Decisions Connectors: Bring Your Meetings into the AI Tools You Already Use

Decisions connectors let the people in your organization ask their AI assistant — Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and more platforms as we certify them — about the meetings they run in Decisions. Agendas, AI Recaps, AI Minutes, logged decisions, action items, and meeting files become available in natural conversation, while everything stays inside your Microsoft 365 tenant and respects each person's existing permissions.

What are Decisions connectors?

A connector is a secure bridge between Decisions and an AI assistant. Once connected, an assistant can find a person's meetings and work with the content already managed in Decisions — on that person's behalf, with that person's own sign-in. Nothing is copied out of your Microsoft 365 tenant, and no assistant sees anything the person couldn't already open themselves.

You choose which access is available to your organization, and every individual chooses whether to connect their own account.

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

MCP is the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business systems — the same way one USB standard replaced a drawer of proprietary cables. Decisions publishes a remote MCP server, so any AI platform that supports the standard can offer Decisions as a connector without custom integration work.

For you, that means one switch. Turning on MCP access in the Decisions Admin portal lets people connect Decisions to MCP-capable AI apps, each signing in with their own Microsoft 365 work account. Microsoft Copilot is the exception — it has its own native integration, managed in the Microsoft 365 admin center rather than through the MCP toggle.

What can a connected AI assistant access?

Connectors give an assistant a focused set of meeting tools — most of them read-only:

• Find meetings — search upcoming and past calendar events by subject, attendees, or date
• Read meeting content — published agendas, AI Recaps, key takeaways, and AI Minutes
• Look up decisions and action items — the team's decision log and open tasks, with owners and due dates
• Find meeting files — decks, notes, and recordings across SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams

A small set of agenda tools can also make changes: add, update, or suggest agenda items, and publish an agenda. Every change requires the person to confirm before it happens, and the same rules apply as in Decisions itself — organizers and meeting admins edit agendas directly, while attendees submit suggestions for approval.

How to enable connectors for your organization

Admins control everything from one page:

1. Open the Admin portal in Decisions.
2. Go to Decisions AI → Connectors.
3. Turn on MCP access to let people connect Decisions to MCP-capable AI apps. Turn it off at any time to disconnect the organization.
4. For Microsoft Copilot, select Configure to manage access in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Once enabled, each person connects individually — for example in Claude under Settings → Connectors → Decisions — and signs in with their own Microsoft 365 work account. Setup takes about three minutes.

Security and privacy: built on your Microsoft 365 permissions

Your meeting data stays in your organization's Microsoft 365 tenant — connectors don't move or duplicate it. Access is delegated: the assistant acts with each person's own sign-in, so nobody sees a meeting, file, or decision through an AI assistant that they couldn't already open in Microsoft 365. Write access is limited to agenda items and always confirmed by the person first.

Decisions never uses your meeting content to train AI models. As with any integration, what a third-party AI platform does with the responses it receives is governed by your organization's agreement with that provider — which is why the choice to enable each platform stays with you.

Can an AI assistant see meetings I don't have access to?

No. Connectors use delegated permissions — the assistant signs in as you and can only reach what you can already open in Microsoft 365 and Decisions.

How do I turn off MCP access for my organization?

In the Decisions Admin portal, go to Decisions AI → Connectors and switch off MCP access. Microsoft Copilot access is managed separately in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Can AI assistants change my meeting content?

Only agenda items — adding, updating, suggesting, or publishing — and only after you confirm the action. Recaps, minutes, decisions, and files are read-only through connectors.

Is my meeting data used to train AI models?

No. Decisions never uses your meeting content to train AI models, and your data stays in your organization's Microsoft 365 tenant.
