Decisions Connectors: Bring Your Meetings into the AI Tools You Already Use

Decisions connectors let the people in your organization ask their AI assistant about the meetings they run in Decisions. That works in Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Amazon Quick, and more platforms as we certify them. Agendas, AI Recaps, AI Minutes, logged decisions, action items and meeting files become available in natural conversation. Every request respects each person's existing Microsoft 365 permissions.

Ready to turn it on? A Decisions admin opens the Decisions Admin portal, goes to Decisions AI → Connectors, and turns on the MCP access toggle. Full steps below.

What are Decisions connectors?

A connector is a secure bridge between Decisions and an AI assistant. Once connected, an assistant can find a person's meetings and work with the content already managed in Decisions. It does this on that person's behalf, with that person's own sign-in. No assistant sees anything the person couldn't already open themselves.

Your admin decides whether connectors are on for your organization, and each person decides whether to connect their own account.

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

MCP is the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business systems, the way one USB standard replaced a drawer of different cables. Decisions runs a remote MCP server, so any AI platform that supports the standard can offer Decisions as a connector.

For you, that means one toggle. Turning on MCP access in the Decisions Admin portal lets people connect Decisions to MCP-capable AI apps. Each person signs in with their own Microsoft 365 work account. Microsoft Copilot is the exception: it has its own integration, managed in the Microsoft 365 admin center rather than through the MCP access toggle.

Which AI tools work with Decisions?

New platforms appear on the Connectors page as we certify them. Already using ChatGPT or Perplexity? An admin on those platforms can add Decisions as a custom connector today. Contact support for the details.

What can a connected AI assistant do?

A connected assistant can read:

• Meetings. Search upcoming and past calendar events by subject, attendees or date.
• Meeting content. Published agendas, AI Recaps, key takeaways and AI Minutes.
• Decisions and action items. The team's decision log, and action items from AI Recaps and the team's task list.
• Meeting files. Decks, notes and recordings across SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
• The Meeting Engagement Score. The overall score, agenda quality and team engagement for meetings with 4 to 49 accepted attendees.

It can also make changes:

• Build and manage agendas. Create an agenda, add or update items, reorder them, and publish it. Attendees who aren't organizers can suggest items for the organizer to approve.
• Log decisions. Add a decision to the team's decision log, or update one. This needs a Decisions plan that includes the decision log, and a team using the standard format rather than voting or RAPID.

Decisions applies the same rules as in Decisions itself. Organizers and meeting admins change agendas directly, while attendees submit suggestions for approval. Adding, updating or publishing agenda items always needs the person's confirmation first. Recaps, minutes, action items and files are read-only through connectors.

How to enable connectors for your organization

Admins control everything from the Decisions Admin portal:

1. Go to Decisions AI → Connectors.
2. Turn on the MCP access toggle to let people connect Decisions to MCP-capable AI apps. It starts on for new organizations. If your organization used Decisions before connectors arrived, it starts off. Turn it off at any time to disconnect the organization.
3. Go to Company → Permissions and check that Disable AI Features is unticked. Connectors don't work while AI features are off.
4. On the same page, check that Connect to Microsoft 365 shows Connected. If it doesn't, a Microsoft 365 admin selects Re-Consent, or uses app.boarddecisions.com/web/#/admin-consent.
5. For Microsoft Copilot, select Configure on the Connectors page to manage access in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Once enabled, each person connects on their own, for example in Claude under Settings → Connectors → Decisions, and signs in with their Microsoft 365 work account.

Security and privacy: built on your Microsoft 365 permissions

Access is delegated. The assistant acts with each person's own sign-in. Nobody sees a meeting, file or decision through it that they couldn't already open in Microsoft 365. Changes are limited to agendas and the decision log.

Decisions reads meeting content live from your Microsoft 365 when someone asks, and doesn't store or index a copy. Decisions never uses your meeting content to train AI models. What a third-party AI platform does with the responses it receives is covered by your organization's agreement with that provider. That's why turning on MCP access, and allowing connectors in each AI platform, stays your organization's choice.

FAQ

Can an AI assistant see meetings I don't have access to?

No. Connectors use delegated permissions. The assistant signs in as you and can only reach what you can already open in Microsoft 365 and Decisions.

How do I turn off MCP access for my organization?

In the Decisions Admin portal, go to Decisions AI → Connectors and switch off the MCP access toggle. Microsoft Copilot access is managed separately in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Can AI assistants change my meeting content?

Yes, agendas and decisions. An assistant can create agendas, add, update, reorder or suggest items, publish an agenda, and log or update decisions. Adding, updating or publishing agenda items needs your confirmation first. Recaps, minutes, action items and files are read-only.

Is my meeting data used to train AI models?

No. Decisions never uses your meeting content to train AI models.

When will ChatGPT and Perplexity connectors be available?

They're coming soon, and will appear on the Connectors page in the Decisions Admin portal once certified. To use them sooner, an admin on those platforms can add Decisions as a custom connector. Contact support for the details.
