Sensitivity labels
Sensitivity Labels are used to label information/documents/containers with a set of properties that define what users are allowed to do with them.

A sensitivity label defines several properties (too many to list here), a few examples include:

  • If export/print is allowed
  • Control access (encrypt)
  • Mark/watermark

Encrypted files
If a file has been labeled with a Sensitivity Label that enforces encryption (Access control), then the following should be observed (this applies to Decisions in Teams, Web, App, and Mobile App):

  • The file cannot be converted to PDF (in Decisions)
  • PDF files cannot be annotated
  • The file cannot be merged into a MeetingBook or Presentation
  • The Edge Web Browser has support for opening encrypted PDF files on a PC and Mac.
  • Some Office files may require using the Desktop app (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) when opening files.

Non-encrypted files
Files labeled with a Sensitivity Label that does not enforce encryption should behave as normal when using Decisions. However, there might be properties associated with the label that prevents actions like printing and export.
