#Tags
Organize agendas and decisions at scale with searchable, team-managed #tag labels
What are Tags and why use them
- Tags help larger organizations streamline how they prepare, run, and follow up on meetings in the Decisions platform.
- By adding tags to an Agenda item or a Decision, you create a simple, consistent way to group similar work (e.g., department, initiative, fiscal year, priority).
- Tags improve day-to-day workflows (planning, running meetings, and tracking outcomes) and make it easier to look back later for audits, status reviews, and historical analysis.
How Tags work
- Where you can apply Tags
- Add tags directly to an Agenda item (for planning and discussion).
- Add tags to a Decision (for outcomes and approvals).
- Manage your organization’s Tags at the team level
- Open the Decisions app in Microsoft Teams and go to the relevant team.
- Select Team settings → Tags.
- Use Add tag to create new tags, or select an existing tag to Edit or Delete.
- Team-level tag management ensures everyone uses the same, clean set of labels.
- Find everything linked to a Tag
- Tags now appear in global search. Type a tag name to instantly see all related meeting artifacts, including Agenda items, Decisions, and other linked content.
- This makes it easy to pull a cross-meeting view (e.g., all “Q4 budget” items and decisions) for reviews and reporting.
Good to know
- Tips for better adoption
- Add tags while drafting the agenda so they’re ready for Minutes and follow-ups.
- Favor a few, meaningful tags per item/decision so search stays sharp.
- Review the Tags tab periodically to archive or merge near-duplicates.
- Recommended Tag conventions (examples)
-
- Initiative or program: initiative: modernization, program: onboarding
- Department or function: dept: finance, dept: hr
- Time or period: fy25, q4, 2025-h1
- Status or priority: p1, strategic, policy
Troubleshooting
- I Can’t Add or Edit Tags. Make sure you’re in the correct team and have access to Team settings. If you don’t see Tags, check with a team owner or admin.
- My Tag Isn’t Appearing in Search. Confirm the exact spelling, and verify the tag is applied to at least one Agenda item or Decision in that team.
- We Have Duplicate Tags. In Team settings → Tags, consolidate or retire duplicates to keep the list clean.
